The Friday Update for Sept. 4, 2026
CONGREGATIONAL UPDATES
Important Announcement: Candidate for Pastor
As announced by Elder Dotty Dey during worship on September 6th, the Consistory has accepted a recommendation from the Search Committee of a candidate to be our new pastor. This is the first of three required congregational announcements regarding a special congregational meeting on October 4th. On this day we will meet and hear the candidate preach as they lead in worship. Worship will be followed by a special congregational meeting led by our Supervisor, the Rev. Kirsten Shepler-Ross. At this time, the congregation will have the opportunity to consider the candidate and offer an advisory vote. For now, the candidate's name has to be kept confidential. Their name will be shared at the earliest opportunity.
Depending upon Sycamore and the candidate's circumstances, prior to the 4th there may be other opportunities to get to know the candidate . As you can imagine, this is an important juncture in the life of Sycamore. Please make every effort to attend this important special congregational meeting.
